Well-being Holistic Programs: No Longer a Luxury

We cannot separate our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being from our work. When we suffer physically, our productivity and work suffer, when we suffer mentally from depression or any other mental illness, our jobs suffer, and the same goes for our spiritual suffering, as whenever we grieve or suffer emotionally, we suffer at work as well.

Investing in your people’s well-being is not a choice in an era where the distinction between companies comes from human potential. This isn’t limited to granting licenses to a meditation app.

Wellness Programs: A differentiator

Employees will depart, and candidates will not pursue possibilities at organizations that do not have holistic wellness initiatives. This is especially true after the outbreak of Covid-19, which brought us whole different consciousness toward our health. The companies, which support employees’ well-being will be attractive to existing and potential employees. Leaders should pay attention: while 70% of you believe you give good access to health and wellness perks and assistance, only 23% of your employees believe the same. This isn’t the climate you learned about in business school. The times are changing, and we must adjust as swiftly as possible – and carefully – to keep our people healthy. It is great to offer your teams with the culture they are grateful for.

Savings on the Bottom Line

For those handling cost restrictions: Employers in the United States spent $575 billion in 2019 due to sick workers. That was even before the Covid-19 pandemic. The rates of burnout, worry, and stress rise as we move through the pandemic years 2020 and 2021. Levels will continue to rise, with extraordinary expenses associated with mental health even when we are at lower risk of sickness. Many countries’ healthcare systems have long recognized the value of preventative treatment.

Growth and Innovation on the Top Line

Finally, employees that are taken care of perform better: they arrive prepared to work, resulting in a 6x return on health investments. Individuals who are holistically well doing the unique things that we need people to do in this day of automation. They are kind, resourceful, and resilient. People who are ill in body, mind, or spirit, on the other hand, cannot be expected to possess the attributes necessary for 21st-century economic success.
