Safe Workplace Spring Celebration
While Spring is a festive time, it is very important to follow the necessary Springtime safety procedures. A safe workplace helps you retain staff, improves your reputation as a company and enhances your company culture. Here are a few Spring safety tips for the workplace:
Dust and Allergies
Most people look forward to Spring and welcome it with open arms except those who suffer from seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies can be more painful and frustrating than most people realize. It can also drastically affect your employees’ ability to focus. This is an ideal time to make sure the office gets a deep clean to rid it of any dust and allergens that may be lurking around your office space and will worsen their allergy symptoms. They will greatly appreciate it.
Declutter
This may not directly be related to safety, but decluttering as Spring approaches is a tale as old as time (remember: Spring speaks Rebirth and Renewal). Encourage your employees to declutter their desk and cabinets. Get rid of those pens that have run out of ink and shred any old papers. You can also donate any stationary that is not being used. This not only ensures a calming and productive workspace but also increases safety around the office.
Limit Paper Use
Having an abundance of paper around an office space is considered a safety hazard. Taking from the Spring theme, where trees are blossoming all around us, it is always a good time to encourage your employees to “save the trees” and ditch the use of paper and go digital as much as possible. If you’re decluttering as discussed above then getting rid of any outdated papers should automatically be part of the process.
