The Importance of Employee Engagement
Employees will usually continue to fulfill their daily tasks whether they are satisfied with their work environment or not. It is a matter of securing their job. However, there is a world of difference between a happy and satisfied employee, and one who is counting the hours to leave at the end of the day.
Sooner rather than later, an employee’s lack of motivation catches up with him/her and the company starts seeing a huge drop in their performance, not to mention all the damage a disengaged employee can subconsciously do to the environment around him/her. What plays a crucial role in employee performance and overall attitude is, Motivation.
As the grey winter skies move over to make room for a bright and optimistic spring, it is the perfect time to motivate and engage employees, and prepare the team for the year ahead.
There is a general feel of rebirth and a need for renewal around springtime. The air is warmer and the sun is finally shining brighter after what sometimes feels like a never-ending gloomy winter. This is the perfect time to revamp things around the office and capitalize on that feeling of renewal.
You certainly don’t need to start renovating the entire office or buy new big furniture pieces. Small changes can go a long way in giving your office space a fresh feel. Buying new stationery, or maybe a new coffee machine for the office can be a small step in cheering everyone up and creating a buzz. Adding some seasonal decor to common areas is also a great way to brighten up the spirits in the office.
Small things really do make a big difference.
